Orange County Superior Court (Trial Award)

Orange County Superior Court (Trial Award)
Result: $5,600,000 to Client (phase 1 only)

Gregory G. Brown obtains $5,600,000.00 for client in first phase of trial. Phase 2 will commence later this year, where additional amounts in excess of $25,000,000 will be sought for breach of fiduciary duty, violation of Family Code Section 1101 and a shareholder derivative action. B&C represented the spouse of a decedent who had a community property interest in a $135,000,000 manufacturing business. When her husband died, it was learned that the business had been improperly transferred to a trust. After death, the business was then run by Trustees of the trust and wife was excluded from running the company she had help build since 1976. There were 5 defendants (and their law firms) opposing B&C in trial.
